If I have a Chase credit card, can I just change the type of account it is without opening a new one?

I've had a Chase card for several years now and I want to know if I can change that to the Disney Rewards card through Chase Bank. I don't really want to open a new account, but if I can just easily change my existing Chase card to be the Disney Chase card, that would be great. Basically, I just want a card with rewards without having to close my current one and open a new one.

As a Chase Credit Card Customer,

I will tell you that this cannot be done. I tried it myself. They will tell you that they will need to re-pull your credit profile (i.e. credit report) to see whether you are eligible.

The only thing that you can do with your EXCITING account without having to re-pull your credit report is to 1) increase your credit line (i.e. spending power), 2) make balance transfers or consolidate debt with your existing card, 3) negotiate a lower interest rate (assuming of course you have not been late in that year at all).
